Autopilot for DJI Drones App Reviews

Its a great app. It works really well. Your videos will look pro. It has s different ability that you dont have as a manual pilot especially at first. there is a large learning curve for the more complex features and abilities but with 10 minutes on YouTube you can know enough to get you in the air and filming some amazing shots. Pay close attention to the safety videos too. They can save your phantom.

I got the app about a week ago. Very complex as it should be. Not difficult just lots of great parts. Watch the videos. All of them as the information is priceless. Then yes. Do read the flight school so you know where to find the details in the field. Really helps for the pro video shots

DJI GO just scratches the surface. Autopilot unlocks the full potential of the P4 by allowing you to plan plan and execute complex video sequences with ease. Excellent support with documentation and video tutorials to get you over the initial learning curve. Well worth the investment!

This app is well thought out and nothing short of amazing with what it can do with the flight execution of your Quadcopter. At the beginning, the complexity may seem overwhelming, but once you take the time to learn how to take advantage of whats designed into the app, you will be able to do things with your quad you never imagined possible. I practiced with just a couple functions first, constantly referring back to their tutorial "flight school" and once I felt comfortable, I moved onto the next feature. This really helped me to appreciate AutoPilot. Thanks again and keep up the good work!

This is hands-down the single most powerful 3rd party app for DJI Phantom drones. Far more powerful than Litchi and vastly more flexible than any other app out there. Auto Pilots differentiating feature is that theyve created their own flight controller. Other apps are limited by the capabilities of the DJI flight controller. Auto Pilot gives you the best of both worlds! For simple features that the DJI controller is capable of performing, AutoPilot uses the DJI controller. Where the DJI controller falls short - AutoPilot uses their own custom designed controlled that truly extends the capabilities of the Phantom and goes far beyond what the other apps are capable of. This is most evident in their Waypoint capabilities. You can change speed and altitude at each waypoint and you have many options for camera control - you can drop focus markers all over the map and have the camera focus anywhere, interpolate the focus from one market to the next, focus on objects above ground level (i.e. The Statue of Libertys torch), you can specify a fixed angle/direction, have it keep the camera focused on a moving target that changes altitude, on another Phantom, or manually controlled by the joystick - and you can mix and match ALL of those capabilities into a single Waypoint mission! The latest beta feature even provides a mechanism for replacing poor quality Google imagery with your own custom map tiles! I challenge anybody to find another app that comes close the power of Auto Pilot. With all of the available options - new users often think that using AutoPilot is complex and difficult to learn - but a series of YouTube tutorials and detailed documentation called Flight School helps you through learning the interface and creating your first missions. A well-designed, consistent and predictable user interface hides the complexity when you dont need it and after creating your second mission, youll be amazed at the simplicity and intuitiveness of the interface. Auto Pilot is a tool that is mandatory for every professional drone pilot and makes flying a whole lot more fun for pros and hobbyists alike. For all it does, Im amazed it doesnt cost 2 or 3 times more than it does!

Please enlighten us about using much more. I did not understand the program. Besides i am getting a lot of warning about location could not find etc.

I am using Autopilot from only few days, but Ive realized already very nice pictures and video clip, in particular with Zip Line and Orbit. Only a little hint/request from my experience ... Please link the flights with dji Go so we can import video and pictures to use directly with the dji go capability and share them

Very good app! ***** 5 stars for it if you are in an area with internet connectivity. *---- 1 star Without internet: - NO MAPS :app havent possibilities to previously save maps locally and use it to fly where there isnt internet; - NO HELP or suggestion for use it when offline. No help offline, no manual offline equivalent no try other than you know. 30€ cost and half usability without internet, I think is not a good purchase! Hope next releases correct it.

Do not trust it on a steep set of swithcbacks. It could not keep up with the steep altitude increase.

App allows so many options and control to get high budget film quality from alow priced app. Its unreal and the support is even better. Will buy anything they come out with next.

Love the app, well worth the money. Does everything you would want to have your drone do. I take pictures, videos and so far I have people that I dont even know want me to do pictures of their home. The best app for your money.

This app is a must-have for any serious DJI drone user. It allows you to consistently create incredibly professional footage with very minimal setup time. And unlike the Go app, you can pre-plan all of your shots without even turning on the drone, which extends precious flight time. Two things to keep in mind: 1) Read the manual. All of it. Its not that long, and its absolutely essential. 2) Keep your hands on the controller and be ready to manually override the app at any time. The app only does what you tell it to do, including running your drone into trees and buildings.

This app is the perfect compliment to the DJI GO app and the Inspire 1. Makes specialty flight planning more efficient and manageable.

Too complicated. Usability is unacceptable. What you on screen - only parameters and settings. The size of the map is max 25% of the screen. Interface is not friendly. Too many settings. The interface is overall bad.

This app adds so much value and versatility to owning a Phantom. Its everything the DJI app should be and more. Easily worth the price. There is a definite learning curve but if you thoroughly read the Flight School manual and watch the YouTube videos you will soon be rewarded as you become more confident with this awesome app. If you experience a runaway like I did early on you will most likely learn it was due not to the app but negligence, ignorance or being in a hurry. The mistakes I made became apparent the more I re-read the manual which I cannot stress enough. Take your time and start off small. Highly recommend!

Very pleased with the purchase of this app. I read through Flight School and watched all the instructional videos first. After that everything seemed very intuitive and easy to use. The experience level setting at the top is a nice way of learning things in order. I did get stumped on a camera setting so I emailed support. Had the answer in less than 24 hours. I find Autopilot with my Phantom 4 to be a really powerful combination.
